Due to the many comments and suggestions from our customers, we have been working on improvements of the module „Online teaching”. We updated the component responsible for conducting online classes, which results in many positive changes. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with these improvements.
-
Better audio and video quality
First of all, we managed to greatly improve the quality of audio and video thanks to WebRTC technology , which provides the best sound quality possible with a minimum delay. The technology is not yet in wide use and can not be supported by some browsers. To ensure that currently the highest possible quality audio and video is used check if at the bottom of the screen appears the tag „WebRTC Audio”.
-
Recordings on demand
Now there is a possibility to record classes „on demand”. You can repeatedly start and stop the recording, and after the class is finished, the recording is compiled and published on the Platform. Record button is the last on the right side of the top utility bar. Right after the start of the class you will be a infomed about the possibility to record all the activities.
- Live polls
The big new feature is the ability to quickly conduct surveys during the classes. Just ask a question via chat or microphone, select the most suitable type of survey (the following survey types are available: A / B / n, True / False, Yes / No; but you can also define your own answers). After creating a survey it appears on the students screen, and you will receive answers presented in a chart form (percentage and quantitative). After conducting a poll you will be able to publish the results for all the participants.
-
Friendly interface
A minor change, but also important. We introduced a friendlier interface window for joining and testing audio settings.
-
Shortcuts
For advanced users we have provided a number of keyboard shortcuts to accelerate the whole process. Available shortcuts can be viewed by pressing the button in the upper right corner.
In case of teacher’s desktop sharing, the module is able to identify your system and tell you about the requirements in order to achieve top performance of the functions.
-
Use your smartphone
Another change is the support for mobile browser Puffin (https://www.puffinbrowser.com), which uses Flash technology and allows you to launch online lessons on most of the smartphones.
-
Change the language
As you can see most of the screenshots in this article are showing the system in English, but you will be able to switch to many other languages.
-
Feedback with Emojis
And finally, an adorable feature is the opportunity to give feedback to the students and teachers with the use of emojis.
